Dr. María Carmona-Iragui has recently received the Doctoral Thesis Extraordinary Award in Neuroscience for her work entitled: “Sporadic cerebral amyloid angiopathy: beyond lobar intracerebral hemorrhage. Multimodal biomarker studies of atypical presentations”.
Her work was co-directed by Dr. Rafael Blesa, Dr. Alberto Lleó and Dr. Juan Fortea, and deepened in the analysis of different forms of presentation of cerebral amyloid angiopathy, the use of biomarkers for its diagnosis and its relationship with sporadic and genetically determined Alzheimer’s disease.
Dr. Carmona-Iragui defended her Doctoral Thesis in September 2017 in the Faculty of Medicine of Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona located at the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau.
