Dr. Maria Carmona-Iragui completed her medical studies at the Universidad de Navarra in 2006 and specialized in Clinical Neurology at Clínica Universidad de Navarra. She continued her training in behavioural neurology and neurodegenerative diseases in the Memory Unit of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau and the Down Medical Center of the Catalan Foundation for Down Syndrome, a period in which she completed her PhD at the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona. She studied a master’s degree in “Research methodology for health sciences” and achieved a scholarship in Trinity College of Dublin, Ireland, as part of the Global Brain Health Institute. Not only that, but she is now a faculty neurologist at the Neurology Department, where she combines both clinical and research activities focused on the treatment and study of neurodegenerative diseases in the general population and in Down syndrome.
