Danna Perlaza graduated in Genetics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2022 and obtained her master’s degree in Translational Biomedical Research from Vall d’Hebron-UAB in 2023.
During the last year of her degree, she joined the Sant Pau Memory Unit for an extracurricular internship under the supervision of Dr. Olivia Belbin, where she participated in a translational study on polygenic risk and protein biomarkers for the early detection and monitoring of synapse vulnerability in Alzheimer’s disease. She continued with this project throughout her master’s studies, which culminated in her master’s thesis.
Currently, Danna is working as a research assistant, focused on genetic screening tools related to synapse vulnerability in Alzheimer’s disease.
