Olivia Belbin is a Miguel Servet Associate Researcher whose primary research focus is the integration of proteomics and systems biology to detect early disease pathways in Alzheimer’s disease. She received her degree in Neuroscience and PhD in Molecular Medical Sciences from the University of Nottingham (UK). The results of her PhD were included as a Research Highlight in Nature Clinical Practice Neurology. From 2008, Dr Belbin spent 3 years as a postdoctoral researcher at Mayo Clinic (USA) in the laboratory of Prof Younkin, searching for genetic risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease. In 2011, she joined the Memory Unit and has since been awarded several grants as principal investigator. Dr Belbin has published research articles, reviews and editorials in the top international peer-reviewed journals of her field and has been involved in international collaborative projects.
