Eduard Vilaplana

Eduard Vilaplana obtained his Electrical Engineering degree with Signal Processing and Communications specialty from the Universitat Politècnica of Catalunya in 2012. Following a research placement at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, were he worked in classification patterns for mild cognitive impairment, he joined the Memory Unit of the Neurology department at Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau. In 2013 he obtained a Master’s degree in Neurosciences from the Universitat de Barcelona, and in 2017 he completed his PhD thesis at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, which focused on the study of the preclinical phases of Alzheimer’s disease using imaging and cerebrospinal fluid biomarkers. His main research interests are centered on imaging techniques and their integration with biochemical markers for the study of neurodegenerative diseases.
