Dr. Barrutia graduated in Medicine from the National University of San Marcos in Lima, Peru. She completed her specialized training in Neurology at the Complejo Asistencial Universitario de León between 2022 and 2026. During her residency, she developed a strong interest in the study of neurodegenerative cognitive impairment, completing a clinical fellowship at the Memory and Aging Center of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), USA. In June 2026, she joined the Memory Unit at Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau as a clinical neurologist, combining clinical practice with research in the field of neurodegenerative disorders.
