SPIN Cohort (Sant Pau Initiative on Neurodegeneration)
The SPIN cohort aims to advance our understanding of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, Lewy body dementia, and frontotemporal lobar degeneration by studying biochemical and neuroimaging biomarkers. To achieve this, we rely on the collaboration of patients and healthy volunteers who undergo neuropsychological assessments, blood tests, and imaging studies. This information is helping us understand how biomarkers relate to memory performance and how they evolve over time.
DABNI Project (Down Alzheimer Barcelona Neuroimaging Initiative)
The DABNI project aims to unravel the mechanisms leading to Alzheimer’s-type dementia in Down syndrome, with the goal of advancing scientific knowledge, enabling early detection, developing new therapeutic strategies, and improving the quality of life of patients and their families.
