Érika Sánchez Aced graduated in Biomedical Sciences in 2021 (University of Barcelona) and obtained her master’s degree in Neurosciences in 2022 (University of Barcelona). During the last year of her degree, she joined the Memory Unit of the Neurology Service of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, where she carried out her final degree project on synaptic damage in patients with frontotemporal dementia. Since then, she has been collaborating on different projects on synaptic damage and the role of tau and APP proteins in the synapses of Alzheimer’s patients. Currently, Érika Sánchez is doing her PhD in Neurosciences at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, focusing her research on synaptic pathology in Alzheimer’s disease.
