Bessy Benejam completed her studies in Psychology at the University of Barcelona. Between 2000 and 2003, she performed a master in Clinical Neuropsychology (at the same university), and carried out her practical training at the departments of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry of Bellvitge University Hospital. In 2003, she awarded a grant to carry out a pre-doctoral research at the Neurotraumatology and Neurosurgery Research Unit (UNINN) of Valle Hebrón University Hospital, where she attended her PhD courses (Faculty of Medicine, Autonomous University of Barcelona). In 2008, Bessy Benejam started to collaborate with the Barcelona Down Medical Center of the Catalan Down Syndrome Foundation, where she currently carries out her clinical and research activity focused on the study and diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease in Down Syndrome.
